Despite the wet cold summer, there were more nuts than initially thought. I just had to shake the Northern tree and all the nuts fell to ground, I then collected those. The Skinner nuts were not as ripe but I picked those off the tree - worried that the deer might find them otherwise. Below is a photo of the nuts still in the husks.
