Well into the summer season of 2007 I notice a single beaked nut pair developing on one of the Northern plants and two nuts on one of the Skinner tress (the replacement tree). The beaked nut pair disappeared and I am not sure what happened to it - it may have gotten blown off by one of our hurricane force west winds. The winds here can be over 100 km an hour gales. I have tried to plant the hazelnuts in semi protected spots but regardless the wind will continue to be factor.
